Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of Verafy and Verafy+Anchor (the “Service”), provided by Dejify, Inc. (“Dejify”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.
Two other documents sit alongside this one and are part of your agreement with us: the Rules of Engagement, which govern conduct between users, and the Privacy Policy, which governs what we collect and why. Section 7 below contains the messaging terms for Verafy announcements.
1. The Service
Verafy helps people discover and exchange verified contact information with others nearby. Discovery and exchange happen directly between devices over Bluetooth Low Energy and work without an internet connection. Verafy+Anchor additionally allows an authorised event operator to broadcast event information to attendees over the same offline transport.
2. Eligibility and your account
- You must be old enough to use the Service in your jurisdiction, and you must meet the age requirements stated in the app at sign-up.
- You are responsible for the contact details on your account, including keeping your email address or mobile number current, and for activity that happens under your account.
- You must only provide a mobile number that you own or are authorised to use. If you stop using that number, update or remove it in the app.
3. Acceptable use
The Rules of Engagement apply in full and are incorporated here. In summary: no harassment, threats, impersonation, spam or unlawful content. We may suspend or remove accounts that break those rules.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of what you create. You grant us the limited licence needed to operate the Service — to store your profile and to transmit what you choose to share to the people you choose to share it with.
5. Events and organisers
Where you attend an event that uses Verafy+Anchor, the event organiser controls the event content broadcast to attendees. Organisers are responsible for that content and for their own compliance obligations.
6. Availability
We aim to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Offline discovery is designed to keep working when the network does not.
7. Verafy announcements — messaging terms
Verafy announcements are off by default. Nothing is sent to you unless you switch them on yourself in the app.
7.1 What the programme is
The programme name is Verafy Announcements. It carries recurring informational and service-related messages from Verafy about the Service — service interruptions, new releases, and changes affecting your events. It is not a marketing programme and is not used to send third-party advertising.
7.2 How you opt in
You opt in by turning on the Verafy announcements switch in the app, under Profile → Notifications. The switch is off unless you turn it on; we do not enable it for you, and creating an account, accepting these Terms, receiving a one-time sign-in code, or having a phone number on your account does not opt you in.
7.3 The disclosure shown at the point of opt-in
For an account registered with a mobile number, the following text is displayed beside the switch, before it is enabled:
By enabling Verafy announcements, you agree to receive recurring informational and service-related text messages from Verafy at the mobile number associated with your account. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase, and turning this off does not affect any other part of Verafy. See Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.
For an account registered with an email address, announcements are delivered by email and the disclosure says so instead. Verafy sign-up uses a one-time code sent to either an email address or a mobile number, so an account has one channel, and we do not treat consent for one as consent for the other.
7.4 Message frequency
Message frequency varies. Verafy does not send on a fixed schedule; messages are sent when there is something to tell you about the Service or your events.
7.5 Cost
Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier, not Verafy, sets those charges. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
7.6 How to stop — STOP
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them. You may also turn the switch off in the app at any time. Both take effect for the account’s registered number.
7.7 How to get help — HELP
Reply HELP to any message, or contact us at support@verafy.me.
7.8 Consent is not a condition of purchase
Consent is not a condition of purchase. Verafy works fully with announcements switched off; no feature is withheld and no functionality changes.
7.9 Supported carriers
Delivery depends on your carrier and is not guaranteed. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
7.10 Privacy
What we do with your number is described in the Privacy Policy. We do not sell your number, and we do not share it with third parties for their marketing.
8. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from within the app, or via Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate access where these Terms or the Rules of Engagement are broken, or where we are required to.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Where a change materially affects the messaging programme described in section 7, we will present the updated disclosure in the app and ask you to opt in again rather than carrying your previous consent forward.
10. Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided on an “as is” basis to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
