Child Safety Standards
Verafy (operated by Dejify, Inc.) is committed to preventing the exploitation and abuse of children on our platform. This page sets out the standards we apply against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM), in accordance with Google Play's Child Safety Standards Policy.
1. Prohibited content and conduct
Verafy strictly prohibits, on every surface of the service, any content or conduct that sexually exploits or endangers a child, including:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind.
- Grooming, solicitation, or sexualized conversation with a minor.
- Sexual extortion (“sextortion”) of a minor.
- Trafficking, recruitment, or facilitation of the sexual exploitation of a minor.
- Sharing the personal information, location, or images of a minor in a sexualized context.
- Promoting or normalising the sexual abuse of children in any form.
These prohibitions are codified in Verafy's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Violation results in immediate, permanent account termination and reporting to the appropriate authorities (see §5).
2. Age requirement
Verafy is an adults-only service. Users must be 18 years of age or older to create an account. Accounts identified as belonging to a minor are terminated immediately and the underlying phone number and email address are blocked from re-registration.
3. In-app reporting
Every match card and every chat message in Verafy includes a Report action. Reports are routed to the Verafy Trust & Safety queue. Users can also report concerns out-of-band by emailing safety@verafy.me.
Reports relating to suspected CSAM, suspected CSAE, or the safety of a minor are prioritised above all other report categories.
4. Moderation and detection
- Server-side chat moderation. Outbound chat content is screened by automated classifiers before delivery; messages flagged as potentially involving CSAM or the sexual solicitation of a minor are blocked and routed to human review.
- Image moderation. Profile photos and any images uploaded through chat are scanned for CSAM signals before they are made visible to other users.
- Human review. All safety reports are reviewed by a trained human reviewer. Verafy targets a response time of under 48 hours for reports tagged as child-safety concerns.
- Account-level enforcement. Confirmed CSAM or confirmed grooming behaviour results in immediate, permanent account termination and a block on re-registration by the offender's phone number, email address, and device identifier.
5. Reporting to authorities
Verafy complies with all applicable child safety laws. Confirmed CSAM and confirmed offences against a minor are reported, with the offending content and the offender's account metadata, to:
- The U.S. National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline (as required by 18 U.S.C. § 2258A).
- The competent national authority in the user's jurisdiction, where one exists (for example, the Internet Watch Foundation in the United Kingdom, or the National Centre for Missing & Exploited Children equivalent in the user's country).
- Law-enforcement agencies in response to lawful legal process.
Verafy preserves relevant evidence in accordance with NCMEC and law-enforcement preservation requests.
6. Designated point of contact
Verafy's designated point of contact for matters relating to CSAM prevention and compliance is:
Verafy Trust & Safety
Dejify, Inc.
Email: safety@verafy.me
This contact is monitored during business hours and is escalated for urgent child-safety matters.
7. Transparency and updates
Verafy reviews these standards at least annually and updates them in response to changes in applicable law, platform policy, or operational practice. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
